I wanted to expand my creative endeavor and started looking at colored pencils, markers and such. After a bit of research I finally settled on giving Copic Markers a try.

Mind you, these things are very expensive. So the first thing I did was choosing a character, creating the line work digitally and thus I knew which colors I needed for the artwork. I also needed some special, thicker paper because these are alcohol markers and you don’t want to smudge the colors all over the paper and desk. I can’t remember which one I did first, and I suppose it isn’t important. All I can say is that I absolutely love Copics. The colors are so vibrant and you can blend them so well. The first one was a bit scary to do, to be honest. It’s so very different from color pencils and obviously digital painting. But I learned quickly and you do get a feel for them and how to properly use them. After the first one, I naturally wanted to do more, so I expanded my collection to 144 different colors. I scanned some of my Copic drawings and put them in a slideshow.
